Crisis watch

Displacement around the world continues to reach record levels, with millions risking their lives for safety. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responding to the crisis in Ukraine and other humanitarian emergencies. Afghanistan
The International Rescue Committee provides vital support to Afghans who have endured four decades of violent conflict, as well as natural disasters and an economic collapse.
Ethiopia
The International Rescue Committee provides a wide range of assistance for refugees, displaced persons and vulnerable Ethiopian communities as the country faces conflict, regional instability, climate change and food insecurity as a lingering effect of subsequent droughts.
Myanmar (Burma)
Myanmar has endured a protracted conflict that has displaced millions and accelerated the country’s growing humanitarian crisis. The International Rescue Committee is on the ground in Myanmar, providing vital, long-standing support.
Somalia
The International Rescue Committee provides vital support to Somalis who are struggling to recover from decades of war and the effects of catastrophic drought and flooding.
Syria
The International Rescue Committee provides lifesaving support to Syrians struggling to survive a war now in its twelfth year.
Yemen
People in Yemen suffer catastrophic needs due to conflict, economic crisis and displacement in one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. Public services are on the brink of collapse while malnutrition rates remain among the highest in the world.
