Sudan is now the country with the largest number of displaced people and the largest child displacement crisis in the world.

Following the release of the IRC’s Emergency Watchlist 2024 in December last year, a list of 20 countries most at risk of humanitarian deterioration where Sudan was ranked number 1, the IRC has produced a mid-year Sudan Crisis Alert Report to show the trajectory of the world’s worst displacement crisis, as an update to the Watchlist report. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in partnership with Qatar Charity has launched a new integrated humanitarian response service program for vulnerable communities in the Blue Nile State of Sudan. The program will run for six months, serving over 8,000 hard-to-reach refugee, host, and internally displaced communities in Wad al Mahi and Ar Rusayris localities. It aims to expand their access to improved health, water, hygiene and sanitation services

The IRC launched the Client Voice and Choice Initiative to meet the strategic commitment of becoming more responsive to its clients—those people affected by conflict and disaster around the world. This report analyzes data collected from client feedback during those pilots in Greece, Kenya, South Sudan, and southern Syria.
